Sheryll + Miguel Engagement Session @Whistler

This year should be our longest wedding season. Other than the wedding shoots started from March and ended in December. We shot photos for couples in many places as far as the other side of the Earth, China. In 2013, our first wedding shoot will be Sheryll & Miguel's January wedding.

The couple lives in Whistler and the McDonald's restaurant is meaningful to them. Therefore, we drove all the way to Whistler to shoot in the restaurant and the water side where they use to picnic in Summer.

WPJA 2012 Q3 Contest Result

After coming back from the Christmas shopping, we got a good news to share. 3 photos won in the WPJA 2012 Quarter 3 Contest. They are good Christmas gifts to us.

One bad news... Our son Ethan is sick but he is getting a bit better today. Maybe, Toys-R-Us and the train ride just cured his fever (LOL). At the same time, we're trying to finish some photo editing work before Christmas. I hope we can post one more blog post in 2 days.

Merry Christmas!

Yee + Wing Pre-Wedding Session @Guangzhou, China

Yee & Wing's Pre-Wedding Session was our first photo shoot in Mainland China. We only brought very light gears to shoot. Some heavy lighting gears were bought in Guangzhou on the next day we arrived. After this shoot, we packed them and mailed back to Vancouver (If we shoot again in Hong Kong or China, we will do the same again). The day was the only dry day in the past 2 weeks. Right after the shoot, Guangzhou had a very heavy rain which wasn't commonly seen in Vancouver. It was like in a rain forest. We were very very lucky. The special thing about this shoot was the camera and lenses we used. Most of the photos that I posted were shot by Olympus OM-D E-M5 with some manual lenses. Photos came out with outstanding details and colors.

Beijing, Guangzhou & Hong Kong

In the past 2 weeks, we went to Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. We were very lucky to have the only dry day when we shot wedding photos in Guangzhou. People told us that they had lots of rain in the past 2 weeks.

We traveled much lighter than this time comparing to our trips to Europe and Japan. All of the travel photos were shot with my Olympus OM-D E-M5. I made the right choice of bring it around. It was impossible for me to walk and shoot in The Great Wall and Forbidden City with a 5D Mark 3. The walk was way too tough.
