Expecting

Before the busy 2011 wedding season starts, I have more time to work on my own stuff. For instance, I can spend time in planning/shooting Jessie's maternity photos. In February, we will attend WPPI's convention and workshops. I can't wait to see some old faces and I hope to know some new friends, too.

The Second Trimester photo was shot by the new Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II lens. It's super sharp and contrasty... A major upgrade from the previous mark 1 version. I can say it is nearly perfect for a f/2.8 zoom lens. Jessie and I are the happy owners of this one and the f/4L IS version.

Big Lights Far Away

Last week, I had a chance to attend Martin Prihoda's Commercial Lighting Workshop - Big Lights Far Away. It was a great workshop and I knew a lot of new friends in the event. If I didn't have to attend a meeting, I would stay until the end of the day.

Happy New Year!

2011 is around the corner. We are very excited about the new challenges in 2011. Our summer will be fully packed with wedding shoots. At the same time, I hope everything will be smooth when Jessie delivers the baby in May. Photo shoots will start again in 3 weeks. I invested in some new lenses and equipment for our growing team. However, I still don't have time to set up our new i7 computer.

If I'm not mistaken, a good news may come in 2 weeks... If it's real, I will share with blog readers at once.

Fariba & Laolu Wedding @ Swan-E-Set

The wedding of Fariba & Laolu was very special. It was a mix of Nigerian, Iranian, and western cultural wedding. About a year ago, they booked us from England and we never met them until the week before the wedding. Jessie and I were very excited for being able to document such a unique wedding.

My first impression of Fariba & Laolu was "sweet girl & cool guy". On the wedding day, we felt like working with two professional models. Especially Laolu, he is the most fashionable groom we have ever shot! Although we didn't have much time for creative photo session, we could get a lot of photos. We LOVE this HOT couple a lot!!!

Besides the great arrangement from Swan-e-set, CC Roa from "Roa Designs" helped us a lot. Their lighting and decorations made everything looked very romantic and elegant. Walls were painted by color lights.

We also need to thank our good friend Desmond for assisting us this time. He did a fantastic job in helping us with lighting and capturing candid shots.
