WPJA 2012 Q3 Contest Result

After coming back from the Christmas shopping, we got a good news to share. 3 photos won in the WPJA 2012 Quarter 3 Contest. They are good Christmas gifts to us.

One bad news... Our son Ethan is sick but he is getting a bit better today. Maybe, Toys-R-Us and the train ride just cured his fever (LOL). At the same time, we're trying to finish some photo editing work before Christmas. I hope we can post one more blog post in 2 days.

Merry Christmas!

WPJA 2011 Quarter 4 Contest Result

We got another winning shot in last year's Q4 contest. I think we should have more interesting photos for contests in this year. The only problem is... we may not have a lot of time to pick from weddings.

WPJA 2011 Q3 Result

Each of us won a photo in Quarter 3. It was a great news before 2012! Without our clients' support and trust, we wouldn't be able to win photo contests again. Thanks a million!

2012 will arrive in a few days. We wish you a very Happy New Year!

WPJA 2010 Q2 Award Winning Photo

Jessie won another photo in the Quarter 2 contest. When we submitted photos for this contest, we were very busy. We didn't have much time to pick photos.

WPJA 2009 Q4 Winning Photo

It's Jessie's turn this time. She had an award winning photo in quarter 4 of 2009. This is her 3rd winning in year 2009. We should thank Novan and Gary for their trust. This shot was taken at the middle a busy road in Vancouver Downtown. It was sunset at that time, and we had to take the shot within 30 seconds before the traffic light turned from red to green.

WPJA 2009 Quarter 1 Contest

Congratulations, Jessie! She won the 5th place in WPJA 2009 Quarter 1 photo contest, which is one of the world's leading photo contests. I'm really proud of my wife who've been doing this professionally for 2 years only. I think we should tell Katrina (in Hong Kong) about this news tonight.

Hey... back to work now. 2 shoots are coming in this weekend.

WPJA 2008 Q4 Award Winning Photo

Actual Link is here

We have a good news to share with you. Jessie and I are happy to know that we won our first international wedding photojournalist award. I didn't expect this shot would win when I submitted to the 2008 Q4 contest. We both think this shot is an interesting photo. Brianna was covered by a white sheet to avoid Terry to see her before the wedding. It was a bit windy (and a lot of snow) when she got off from the limo. I quickly captured 2 frames at that time and I decided to pick this one.

We will work harder to get more winning shots published!

A Special Day For RJP: We're WPJA members now!

August 18th, 2008 (81808 - lucky day?) is a special day for Jessie and I. In these years, we have been working very very hard in wedding photography. Finally, our effort is recognized by top professionals. We are accepted by Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) which is the top association of wedding photographers in the world (http://www.wpja.com/). We can't just pay membership fee to be members. Only a few wedding photographers who are qualified for specific high standards in professional level are accepted by the association.

Jessie phoned me about the news when I was rushing deadline in office. Her tone was happy... I thought she might get a baby or something. After she told me that we were accepted by WPJA, I put down my phone and said, "Yes! Yes! Yes!". (Erin might think I was going crazy in office)

I'm not only happy for myself as a photographer but also happy for Jessie as her partner. She is such a talented artist.

Thanks to all friends and clients who have been supporting us!
